The digital dream

The new ESRC Seminar Series "Play, Creativity and Digital Cultures" held its first meeting over the weekend at Lincoln. A brilliant group of people in a room together. It was sheer bliss.

Lots of debate and discussion around theories of play and what we understand play to be in relation to digital media, enhanced by presentations by Margaret Mackey, Julia Davies and Jackie Marsh.

My important contribution to the event was to share my knowledge of beautiful laptop bags (note the connection to digital cultures). All of us schlep laptops, PDAs, cameras, mobiles phones, iPods and whatever else we use to 'live the mobile dream'. However, until recently it was very difficult to find stylish and functional bags to carry it all in. For gorgeous and functional bags, try StyleMaven and MobileEdge!

These are great- but how am I going to choose? I want about ten of them.. many thanks for this most important contribution to our digital lives as well as for the very helpful things you said at the seminar!

I cannot live without the Guardian Angel bag.

Have to admit that I quite fancy the Ralph Lauren "rugged briefcase". The lifestyle it suggests is surely the one that i should have, don't you think?

Actually, I'd have ANY of them.

The Guardian Angel is good, Dr Joolz, yes. I like the black and pink Mobile Edge one too,and tote the monde.. but I agree Vic, I'd settle for any of them. And yes, I do see you with the Ralph Lauren- or should that be for Simply Clare so she can take her laptop rough camping and blog from Dartmoor?

Lordy, what a visual image that conjurs!! Simply Clare and hi-tech gadget-empowered partner rough camping with laptop and able to post current thoughts on state of life/world/universe. Could get deep.
